As a result of the expertise of the president and founder of AWSI, a separate company was formed to perform audits of companies required to comply with the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.

Compliance Specialists Incorporated (CSI) was formed in 1994. CSI audits clients that perform regulated functions in the gas and oil industry. They are a recognized leader in the compliance and verification industry. In 1998 Compliance Specialists Incorporated was selected as the Northern California Supplier Council "1997 Supplier of the Year". Although this company is a separate entity from AWSI, the fact that they were formed adds to the qualifications of the management of the organization and their knowledge of the federal drug testing regulations.
